Get to know us

Robyn Swaby and Kiara Slaton, Owners of She Hoops Elite collectively bring more than 16 years of experience within the Business, Accounting, Finance, and Sports Industry.  Having held multiple roles in prestigious collegiate institutes as players, coaches, recruiters, and trainers, these two women understand the industry of women’s basketball.  

Robyn and Kiara recognized the deficit in platforms for women to play organized basketball post-graduation and welcomed the opportunity to pool resources and talent; Thus a company was born with a vision to create such a place.

Robyn Swaby

Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Robyn Swaby, a native of Nassau, Bahamas, boasts a plethora of experience within the basketball arena.  With accolades spanning from professional to collegiate, she brings leadership and passion for the game of basketball.  Boasting the title of All-Conference Player and Scholar-Athlete from Johnson & Wales University, Robyn earned a starting spot for four consecutive years and was named Team Captain for her latter two years.


After graduating Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Robyn continued her reign as an athletic powerhouse, playing internationally with the Bahamian National Team and Miami Rain, a semi-professional team.  Later, Robyn completed her Master’s in Business Administration, Certificate in Forensic Accounting, jump-starting her path to ownership in what would become a South Florida staple in the basketball community.


A doctoral candidate in Education – Leadership & Management (St. Thomas University) and Alumni Chair for Johnson & Wales Women’s Basketball Program, Robyn remains active in the North Miami community, exemplifying service with her continuous outreach efforts within her alma mater network.

Kiara Slaton

President and Founder

Kiara Slaton, McDonald’s All-American Nominee, comes to the program with over 3,400 hours of community service.   Having earned several degrees from the nation’s top universities including Tulane University, Texas A&M, Lynn University, and is a doctoral candidate in Sports Administration; her passion truly lies with education and helping others. Fully understanding the opportunity that female student-athletes are provided, Kiara brings forth a variety of views from within the female athlete scope.


This British native, not only had the honor of playing with a nationally ranked organization but competed against some of the nation’s best players of her era as well. Ending her career due to injury, Kiara was subsequently introduced to athletic administration earning several assistant role titles at various schools including Director of Operations, Tournament Director, Coach, and Athletic Director.


The passion and dedication that stems from these humble beginnings fueled the fire to partner and create a nurturing, safe, and fun environment for post-collegiate women to continue playing basketball which is She Hoops Elite. Kiara continues to give of herself through philanthropic ventures serving on a non-profit Executive Board of Directors and actively participating in her Zeta Phi Beta, Inc. Graduate Chapter.
